ジャッファケーキ。長旅の間にボロッボロになってます。私が子供の頃、日本でも似た様なお菓子が売ってました。やっぱりマクビティから出ていたと思うのだけれど、土台がスポンジケーキではなくてクッキー地だったような気がします。その上に固めのオレンジジャムが乗っていて上からチョコがかかっていて、実はコレが私と姉の大嫌いなお菓子でした。ロンドンでは今でも人気のお菓子なんですが、悪いイメージだけが残っていたので口にするチャンスがありませんでした。日本に帰国してから急に再確認の意味で食べてみたくなり、ロンドンの友人にお願いしたというわけです。で、食べてみたら、なんだか美味しかったかも。まずウマな感じです。このお菓子、

I asked my friend to bring the
Jaffa Cakes from London (They looked a bit tired from a long journey). When I was a kid we had a same sweet in Japan but it seemed slightly different. Our jaffa cake had a cookie base instead of a spong cake and orange jam on the cookie was very thick. The chocolate on top was quite thick but thinner than the jam. And me and my sister absolutely hated it (especially the orange jam)! I wanted to try this cake with my grown up taste buds once again. And...
