interstella 5555
It was great to see interstella 5555. This animation film (67 mins) with thrill, love, tears, friendship and everything is a music clip for DAFT PUNK. Excellent!

Reiji Matsumoto's anima (Yamato, aka Star Blazer or 999) was always for boys but the dancing scene on a flower garden was just as crazy as girls anima (and slightly psychedelic). The old dance style by citizens with the DAFT PUNK' tune made me cry! This is the Japanese anima! A quick scene of France VS Japan football match on the television. Nice Detail! Mr. Matsumoto has the habit of making the visual in his head by listening music since he was a child. No wonder the music and the anima suited very well. Indeed! Check some parts of the film here. Be careful with an irresistible charm of the basist, Stella!

Yeah, that was great and Stella is irresistible! But I'm not sure if the film is a video clip for Daft Punk's "Discovery" album, or if the album is the soundtrack for the film. Perfect match!

yeah exactly, I think that s the great thing about it, is that both the music and the visuals seem so perfectly intertwined that you don t know anymore which one was created to support the other. It was great but I regret seating next to other people cos I couldn t more in rythm. Discovery is in my all-time top 3 music album.

First I got the impression that this might be a 'web-based' movie, but then realised that you must have been to the cinema to watch it. Watched the 3 clips on their website and it looks and sounds fantastic. Shaking my 'money-maker' already! Where can I see this here in London!?

Yes, we went to the cinema to see this. This was also shown at the Cannes International Film Festival 2003 and apparently the applause didn't stop for 10 mins after the show. Maybe your T wants to read Reiji Matsumoto' interview? (japanese only!)

Oh, and I couldn't find the news about showing in London. Sorry. It's just started to show in Japan. Maybe @ ICA or Barbican next year?
