Last night 11:50pm, on the way back from a film, we found a bunch of people standing in the dark. What were they doing? Hmm? Queuing for THAT bakery?! I have only seen this bakery open when I took the last train home (after 1:00am) and every time there were only a few buns left on the shelves. During daytime, they don't sell anything and the shutters are half-closed. I thought they might be a bit lazy. Never thought about people queuing for it. Last night's scene caused us great excitement. We went to the convenience store to calm down until the shop opening at midnight (hard to believe!).

@ midnight, we went back to the kikuya bakery (the only light on a dark shopping street) and there were about12 customers in a tiny space (less than 6 tatami mats size). Many buns are already on everybody's trays, and they were waiting to pay. I wondered which bun is the most popular. I tried to find the answer from checking other's trays but everyone buys too many buns, no way to find it out. I realised that people started to queue behind us and even outside of the store so I put a cream bun (only 3 left already), a melon bun (red bean paste inside! just a little), a curry bun and a loaf of bread on the tray. C failed to buy a doughnut by a second. The woman after us bought up all of them! 12:10am. Inside of the shop it looks like after a storm. 10 minutes after opening, only the price tag remains in the empty shelf. This is the scene I always saw!
