happy meal toy
Here is another Mac story, it is also happy mac. I started to collect McDonald's happy meal toys since 1995. We sometimes went to Mac, even while dating! Mac has been stopped making toys with Mc characters for about two years and I am having a quiet life! I have moved 7 times in these eight years, and all toys are in boxes at the moment. Some day, I want to build a shelf using a whole surface of a wall (or 2 walls) to put all my toys up. If any toys which I do not have are rolling in your (or your nephew and niece) room, please give it to me!

I remember Tamami mentioning something like this a long time ago. So it is still topical. I will keep an eye out for any Happy Meal toys, should there be any. Went to Makedo last saturday after watching Pirates of the Caribean (it really is the exeption these days, you know!) and Tamami enjoyed her Fillet of Fish ("Mac Fish")"sooo much, she wouldn't even let me have a tiny bite. Terrible! She just wasn't HERSELF anymore!

Cos Dirk calls fillet-o'-fish "Mc Fish"... It just ain't right, daddy.

Well, it's not very topical... I haven't been to McDonald's for a year and not spending much time+ money for toys these days. But I'm not going to sell them on an Auction! PU! Mc Fish! Almost Dirk! Tamami, you should be proud that your man' soul is not soiled yet by McDonald's!

Isn't that called "Fish Mac" in Germany? Or "Mac Fish"? I always thought that "Fillet-o'-Fish" sounds too gourmet for McDonald's.

I just checked the german McDonald's site and they call it "Fish Mac"! Sorry Dirk! We say "Fillet-o'-Fish" in japan.

Dirk wrote:
Actually, you are right! I'd completely forgotten about this, it is a 'Fish Mac' in Germany. Also, Tamami tells me it's 'Makudo' and not 'Makedo'. tsk...

Actually, it's "mac" in Tokyo! It's called "makudo" in the west part of Japan...

Oh dear, it's 'Fish Mac' in Germany?! (this reminds me of the scene from Pulp Fiction!) Well, sorry Dirk! You can have a TINY bite next time ;-) By the way, Ebay sells McDonald's character toys, etc and I had a quick look, and it's so-so priced! I particularly liked this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3143974043&category=2521 and also this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3144158065&category=768 only cos it looks a little scary!

I couldn't see the first one. The second one is YES very scary! I wonder how many kids were scared of this image in 1974. By the way, I'm collecting strictly only Happy Meal Toys now. There are too many merchandise like T-shirts, keychains and stickers etc... I used to buy lots of HMT from Ebay! They are much much cheaper than Japan and England.
