チェックイン後、国際通りをブラブラし、とりあえず首里城に向かう事に。8月10日に開通したばかりの沖縄都市モノレール「ゆいレール」の牧志（まきし）駅へ（モノレールが2両ってのが驚いた）。ところが切符売り場に貼り紙が。首里城が16日から18日まで臨時休館！仕方なく「波の上ビーチ」でのんびりする事に。沖縄では銀行員や駅員も普通にアロハ風シャツを着てます。制服なんだ〜。もちろんサラリーマンやおじいちゃんなんかも当然のように着てて日焼けた肌にとても似合ってる。南国〜な感じ。道路沿いに大きく伸びているホウオウボクの木の花も南国気分を盛り上げてくれます。沖縄のビールと言えば
オリオンビール。ファミリーマートで買ってビーチで飲みました。ビーチバレーの練習をしている学生たち。青春だな〜。
After we checked in the hotel, walked around Kokusai-Dori, and decided to visit the Surijo Castle Park by monorail which was just opened on 10th Aug. At the Makishi station there was a notice saying the park is closed from 16th-18th! We changed our destination to the beach. In Okinawa, everyone wears aloha kind of shirts, grandpa and business men, even bank people or station employees. Everyone looked very nice with tanned skin. I've never seen amazing firetrees which were planted along a street. We relaxed at the beach with Okinawan beer
Orion Beer from a convenience store. Students were playing beach volleyball. Everything was just perfect.
