ヴァイナハツゲベック（ドイツ語でクリスマスクッキー）を焼きました。本当は6日のセントニコラス・デーに食べられるように焼くはずが、すっかり忘れてました。セントニコラス→シンタークラウス（ドイツ読み？）→サンタクロース。ニコラスデーの前夜に靴下を部屋のドアの外側に下げて寝ると、次の朝にはサンタがくれたお菓子が靴下の中に。相棒も子供の頃、楽しみだったみたい。そりゃ、そうだよね～。本物の靴下を下げるらしいんだけど、新しい物をこの日のために新調するのかな。

I baked Weihnachtsgebaeck (christmas cookie in German). I should have baked for St. Nikolaus day which was 6th Dec, but I completely forgot about it. Kids in Germany hang socks outside of their room and they find treats in their socks in the morning. I wonder if they buy new socks for St. Nikolaus day?!

去年、ドイツの母を見習い、頑張って初ヴァイナハツゲベックを焼いたんだけど（レープクーヘンは大失敗）2色クッキーは面倒なのでパスしました。今年は挑戦してみたんだけど、失敗。小さく作りすぎた！私も相棒も今日のクッキーの中ではジャムを挟んだシュピッツブーベン（わんぱく小僧（死語？）の意）が好き。

I followed C' family tradition and baked my first Weihnachtsgebaeck (couldn't make nice Lebkuchen) last Xmas, but I couldn't be bothered to make Schwarz Weiss Gebaeck (black & white cookie). I thought I should try to make one this year but... it was so much work! Our favorite is Spitzbuben (means 'rascal') with jam inside.
