christmas cookie again
I wanted to use a different recipe for Kokosmakronen (coconut macaroon) from last year, asked C to find a Gernman recipe. We chose a recipe which needs marzipan. C had to help me a lot (thanks!). They were superb!! Crunchy outside, chewy inside. It was a great idea dipping into a tempered chocolate. We didi it!

I couldn't make proper black & white cookie last time, and tried again. It reminded me of a toffee (by Fujiya) I used to eat when I was a kid... Vanillekipferl (vanilla flavored crescent-shaped cookie) needs lots of almond powder and I like the texture of cookies. This is so easy to make, just using hands no gadgets. I need vanilla powder to mixed with powdered sugar for the the finishing touch. But I don't know where I can get vanilla powder. I can't call this Vanilla-kipferl without vanilla! I should have put some vanilla essence in a dough instead, but I forgot it!

wow jun chan, I am so impressed!! you could open a German cafe/patisserie in Tokyo! They look so good! I would have loved to have tried them! German cookies are so delicious! I had them before when Britta brought some back from Germany. But I bet you can't beat homemade ones!! Jamie says you can put a few pod of Vanilla beans in a jar of powdered sugar to make your own vanilla sugar. Or you could also blend the sugar and the vanilla seeds. That's Jamie Oliver by the way.

Thanks Keiko! I've just learned it on an internet and did the same way an hour ago. But I think I scraped seeds too much... I didn't know that Jamie does proper cooking!

Hmm - Kokosmakronen!! I cannot even remember the last time I tasted them. So long ago... All your baking made me think of Quark Broetchen, which I might try myself now. Not very chrismassy, but really tasty nevertheless. (http://corona.spyz.org/?rez=17762)

I haven't tried Quark Broetchen. I wanted to see what it looks like, and found this (for people who doesn't know Quark Broetchen). Slightly sweet bun maybe? OISHISOU! Unfortunately, we can't buy quark in Japan... I tried one made by Japanese company, but it was a little different, kind of cream cheese. It was sold as dessert I think. Are you try eating it or baking it?!

Nice cookies, by the way. Jun started to hide them around the flat so that she still has some to give away when the time comes. The Kokosmakronen are the best - made with Marzipan!
