birthday party
Yesterday was my husband' birthday. We had a party at our place to celebrate for him and other friend together. I bought a cake from Swing where I always wanted to buy some cakes. The cake shop/restaurant, the woman who works there and the birthday cake, everything was stylish. This berry mousse with honey (I forgot the proper name) was so good. The honey makes it very special, I think. Happy birthday for both of you!

The menu was Nepalese spicy potato salad (couldn't forget from the other night), marinated red and yellow peppers, Greek salad (using the recipe from the pub 'Eagle' in London), spinach quiche and chicken 'cacciatora style'. And some bread from Chez Lui and ham. It seems like the quiche was the most popular dish, I found this recipe about 10 years ago, and arranged it a little bit. Also, it tastes a little bit different each time...
C got so many presents. Actually I feel lucky that we can share lots of things together! One of our friend knows someone who works at the German embassy, and he loves the stollen from Sailer in Fukuoka. And our friend mail ordered one for C (and me). Perfect sweetness and moisture! Nice one! I eat stollen every Christmas since a few years go, but I haven't had one this year yet. Thank you! Oh, I'm just talking about food not about the birthday party...

Yes, we finally invited them to our place. They were happy to see me cooking chicken with Le Creuset which was given by them!

I wish you were there, Keiko! I love Nepalese spicy potato salad, but I still could smell of spices (kind of curry as you imagine) when I came back from Sapporo...
