big issue
This afternoon, I saw a guy selling THE BIG ISSUE JAPAN in front of Shinjuku station south exit. I heard that THE BIG ISSUE launched in Japan last year but I've never seen anyone selling the magazines in Tokyo until today. When I first moved to London, I was wondering about those people who were shouting 'Biiiig big big big issue!' or 'BIGissue!' on streets in London. The Japanese guy who I bought it from was rather moderate. The new issue just came out yesterday. A4, 30pages, full colours, ¥200 (£1).

Hi Jun! Is that Dido on the cover? Is she popular in Japan? Yuck! I'm going to try to talk to Silke tonight and find out what we're doing about coming to visit, I've saved my pocket money and want to see all the stuff from your website for real!! Hi to the husband x

Hi Nigel, yes it's Dido, but this is the first time I've seen her in these parts. Yuck! I've been meaning to write to you and Silke about your trip. Instead I keep going on trips myself. But we'll show you everything for real. And I'll write soon, honest!

Hello Jun. I'm trying to picture Japanese homeless people selling Big Issue! Are they the well dressed 50 something year old types that lost their big jobs through redundancies? Or are they the drunken nutter types with big beards collecting empty cans?

Hi Keiko. They are well dressed (as homeless) 50 something year old types, not nutter one. They look like Japanese alpinists or greengrocers, if you know what I mean.
