Yesterday, our couple friends brought baby Ikanago 'Japanese sand lance' boiled in sweetened soy sauce. It was given to them from their home in Hyogo. Thanks! The ginger gives a good punch to the taste. It was so delicious with plain rice. But I think it won't attract many non-Japanese people because of the looks...

Oh, hi Junko! This is bizarre, but I think we just had some of these as well. Miho, a friend of Naoko brought us some from Japan as a present and they were sooo delicious. Yes, in sweetened soya sauce, with rice, I am sure it was the same food. I don't think there is any left by now though. Tamami loved it... too much!

Hi Dirk! It might be different fish but it was the same food, I think. Didn't you feel anything about the piles of little baby fish? You are a good Japanese food eater!

Hi! Yes, we were given a 'Ko-gori No Tsukudani'. Sooo delish! We can't buy good tsukudani in London, so I was really happy. I also initially thought that Dirk might not like eating little fish as a whole, but he did, and it was difficult to keep him away...!

C doesn't have any interests about little fish! I was so shocked when he described Komochi-shisyamo (do you know it?) as 'pregnant fish'. It has eggs inside but never thought about it is being pregnant! I felt sick to eat 'pregnant fish'. But not anymore!
