Hi Jun!! It's boiling! I got sunburned here yesterday when I was taking photos on Electric Mansions roof! I'm like a lobster! I'm so pleased to do some new photos. It was a shame I didn't get any done in Tokyo, but I'll have to come back! I can remember I tried to buy Moth Balls/Repellent when I lived in Electric Mansions, but for some reason it had been banned from the supermarkets. I can't remember why, I think because of a chemical that was in them, but you can buy something like that again now. At The British Museum we have a summer uniform and a winter uniform, but as they are both made of polyester it doesn't make much difference! At least the moths will not go near them!!

Hi Nigel! Sounds like you are having a nice summer time (and probably a few pints somewhere outside later). Can you wear a winter uniform in the museum anytime if you want to? Or someone tells you the day that you should switch to the other uniform? Maybe not!

Hi Jun. There is a day when we get told that we can start wearing the summer uniform. The only real difference is that the shirts have short sleeves and we don't have to wear a tie, but I never wear my anyway! I saw Kai, Matsa and Willow last night. We drunk beer in the garden at the Prince Albert, then went back to Electric Mansions for some Rum!! I have a hangover now!!

Hello! When I was going to a Primary School here in London, we also had the option of wearing the Summer uniform, a red and white check/gingham half-sleeved dress. It was really sweet. I think we were told from when on, and although optional, they really encouraged you to wear it, you'd feel 'left-out' if not as all your friends would be wearing it. It was a nice change from the restrictive white shirt and tie... I always envied those kids that went to 'no uniform' shcools tho! They were soo cool!

Hi Tamami, the Summer uniform sounds sooo cute! The school uniforms in Japan wouldn't be like that. I think I'm glad that I had to wear uniform at my high school, otherwise I needed to spend at least half hour to think what to wear every morning?!

Hello! At the boarding school I went to in Dorset (just for a year) we had summer uniform too. Ours was yellow and white gingham blouse. It was nicer as you don't have to wear a tie with this blouse like you do with the white shirt you wear during the winter time. I don't remember any set date of when you need to start wearing the summer uniform. So when the climate got warmer there were a bunch of kids in summer uniform and others still in winter uniform and it was lacking in uniformity...

I remember, at my primary school, there were a few boys who wear only a tank-top and short trousers in the Winter time. They looked freezing but never admitted it. I guess you don't have those 'showing off (?) their guts' kids in the UK. ちょっとスポ根っぽいもんね。
