I'm watching the Athens Olympic swimming races every day. I enjoy the record times and the swimming styles, and also the swim cap designs. A few swimmers from Zimbabwe, Croatia and America were wearing a strange cap. It looked like a skinhead wig to me! I found out that the Japanese team replica silicone swim caps are on sale, but I want the German one. Does anyone know where I can buy the cap?
I really like the German team swim cap made by arena, but actually many other countries which have 3 colours on their national flag like Italy, Russia, Hungary etc use the same design. It doesn't matter which country but I really want it. I like the simple style just using 3 letteres like AUT and NZL. I was surprised to see Brasil and China use the same design (by speedo). The Chinese design reminded me of a crane, nice. Using the Canadian maple leaf is always nice. I like the Olympic circles logo, but I think it doesn't look good if it's small on a cap with a country name or national flag and the swimmer's name. The Japanese design is not very strong, but it could be worse. I'm not going to say which country has the worst design.
A fantastic cap collection, Jun! And very diplomatic of you, not mentioning Korea as worst cap design.
I don't know about the Japanese official caps and swimsuits, but scroll down a bit further and check out those official Japan Olympic Team Athens 2004 leather lace-up swimming shoes! I'll have the pair on the left!
Hmm, yes, the China design is nice, but marred by the overexposure of the manufacturer's logo, I think. In that respect, I say you can't beat Canada's abstract colour-coded cap. ("Brown"). And maybe Austria, too, keeping it even more basic.
Carsten's right for Japan, though: two rising suns above each ear, headphones-style, would be a winner.
