english breakfast
I want a big breakfast on the next day of drinking late. We haven't had an English breakfast for quite a while, and I prepared it on Sunday morning. There are not many Japanese who love this breakfast (especially beans), in the same way as not many non-Japanese people enjoy Natto, Raw egg and Grilled fish in the morning. Well, I like either way! I found out that Kewpie/Aohata produces canned Pork & Beans in Japan. This Pork & Beans tastes exactly same as any baked beans in London, except that the beans are a bit too soft. I like baked beans but I wonder how Kewpie/Aohata can sell this product in Japan. I hope it won't be discontinued item...

hi jun chan! i bet you didn't fry the bread (in lard) though!

Oh, no! I didn't know that they fry the bread in lard (I wonder if I ever tried one). Keiko, I hope your British partner won't try this at home ;-)

Hi Jun!! I'm impressed with your breakfast! But my favourite fried breakfast things are fried bread and bubble and squeak, maybe black pudding too! These things will put you on the way to be breakfast sensai!! It's really nice to fry some bread in the oil thats left in the pan, although not very healthy, it tastes great. It has to be sliced white loaf though! Bubble and squeak started in war time when people used to put together all the leftovers from their dinner the night before and fry them all up. It's become a bit more specific now and seems to be fried mash potatoes with cabbage in it. I'm sure you could find a good internet recipe!! Black pudding is of course congealed pigs blood which is completely gross, but tastes alright!! I don't use lard though!! Scrambled eggs is a bit more American or continental than fried eggs!! I can feel my arteries hardening already!! Nx

Hi nigel (british museum, boo!), I was going to make fried eggs but I broke the egg yorks by mistake!! I never had a chance to eat black pudding. I want to try it next time, but It's Irish isn't it? Do I have to go to Irland to eat the best black pudding?

Hi Jun. I'm not sure if it's Irish. I think they make it in England too. I think lots of butchers used to make it. I know the ones in Yorkshire used to when I lived there! If you try Black Pudding I'll try Natto when I visit you, as my new flatmate is sure I'll like it! Also start buying camoflague patterned clothes. When the babies are sick on you nobody notices it so much, Uncle Nigel xx

I hope your flatmate likes Natto (otherwise, he is saying your taste is...)! Anyway, I would be very happy to taste black pudding next time. I think I don't need camoflague patterened clothes. I (and probably you too!) wouldn't carry them if they look sick! ;-p
