rotweinkuchen
ドイツの赤ワインケーキ(ロートヴァインクーヘン)を焼きました。スパイスが効いていてホットワインを思わせる味なので冬のケーキなんだろうなぁと勝手に思ってます。今回は通常レシピの倍量で作ったので、ノルディックウェアの大きなクグロフ型もどうにかイッパイに。そして去年焼いたケーキよりも高さがあって横からの見た目が良くなってますが、味はちょっと自信ないかも。我が家のオーブンで焼くには大きすぎたみたいです。友人の家に持って行くのにヤバいなぁ。味見無しで持って行く勇気、自分でもスゴイと思います。しかもこんなにデカイ!
I baked German red wine cake (Rotweinkuchen). It tastes a bit like Glühwein (hot wine), so I guess this is a winter cake. I doubled the amount of the recipe (in Japanese) to fill up my huge mould from Nordic Ware. So the cake looks better than last year, especially from the side. It's higher! But I'm not sure about the taste. I think my oven is not big enough to bake this amount of cake. I'm going to take this huge cake to my friends without tasting. How brave!

ありがとうございます。この型を使うと味よりもまず見た目でオオッとなるがウレシイです。本来はクグロフ(イーストが入ったちょっとパンみたいな焼き菓子)を焼く為の型なのですが、フルーツケーキやバターケーキ等なんでもアリかと。私は赤ワインケーキ以外にはまだ使った事がないんですけどね。

Junko, the cake was wonderful. I just ate the last piece which Kazuko took home and gave me as I went to the office today. After all it is a nice Sunday in the office, nobody bugging me and plenty of coffee and cake. Perhaps I shoudl work on Sunday always and take Friday and Saturday off as a rule.

It also brought back to mind 2 other german foods/cakes that I haven't tasted in a long long time. Quark Broetchen and...' Donau Wellen' ('Donau Waves').
