Last Saturday my sister, mother and I went to a farm to pick some edamame (soybeans). My sister and her husband are one of the owners of the edamame farm. They have only 15m length of ridge, and they don't work to maintain the farm, but they can pick edamame anytime. Unfortunately this year's edamame seemed smaller than 2 years ago, but it was tasty. The farm was huge and there was a Japanese leek farm on the left. This nice scenery is located just 30 minutes from Tokyo by train.

There were lots of stink bugs. I've never smelled their bad smell before, so I was quite curious, but my sister asked me not to try anything silly. We picked 3.8kg of edamame beans, and immediately after we came home, we boiled them all to keep the good flavour. My sister gave me lots of edamame, but she still had a lots, so she put the rest in a freezer. We also made Zunda-mochi, which is a Tohoku specialty. My brother in law likes Zunda-mochi, but C didn't like it. I also think that the edamame paste has a bit weird texture. I prefer simply slightly boiled edamame and drink some beer!
