The last few weeks have been very very hot in Tokyo. Do I sweat a lot because I drink a lot? Or vice versa? This is like the chicken and egg question! Anyway I take lots of liquids, usually two cups of coffee and about two liters of water every day (plus some beer sometimes). I drink tap water from Brita with lots of ice cubes, or nice refreshing sparkling water.

Actually, I prefer Perrier or S.Pellegrino, but they are quite expensive in Japan. We drink lots of water, so it's uneconomical. We drink Vernière (from France) which I found at Yamaya. It's a bit sparklier than Uliveto, which tastes very flat to me. I like very strong sparkling, but I think this Vernière is very good because it costs only ¥105 for 1250ml. Very reasonable compared to Perrier (¥300 for 750ml). It would be nice if Vernière was in a glass bottle instead of a plastic PET bottle. And the packaging isn't very attractive, but this water is important for us this summer. The sparkling water on the right of the photo is from Switzerland, I bought it because the Heidi illustration is cute. I bought it from Yamaya as well, it's ¥168 for 1.5l. Very nice water.
