04:20。ゼーゼーハーハー言いながらも、どうにか無事にKと一緒に10合目！登頂しました、3776m！富士山ホテルから頂上までの写真が一枚もありません。余裕のなさがバレバレですね。一人でサクサクと登ってった相棒（やっぱり外国人）とは山小屋で合流。待ちくたびれて芯から冷えきった様子。ギュウギュウの山小屋は入場制限されてました。何も飲食していないとスミヤカに退場を勧告されてしまうので缶コーヒーやみそ汁などを頼む相棒。ワタシが注文したお茶は懐かしのプラスチックボトル入りでした。
04:40。山小屋の外がワイワイしてきたので外に出ると、なんだか明るくなり始めてました。冷たい風がビュービュー吹く中、軽装の人はもちろん、ちゃんと着ている人もブルブル震えながら日の出を待つ事35分。誰もがカメラや携帯を片手に、バッテリーが逝ってしまうんじゃないかと心配しながら
この瞬間を待ってました！日の出を見るのは人生初。スバラシイ。05:15でした。
でも旦那があまりにも寒がるので、御来光の感動も束の間、暖を取りにまた山小屋へ。皆さん、ラーメンやうどん、豚汁なんかを頼んでます。インスタント食品だって富士山頂で食べればオイシそう。でも食欲ないし、バックパックから財布を取り出すのも面倒なのでワタシは何も注文しませんでした。頂上に来るまでにもらった焼き印は
トモエ館（3400m）と
御来光館（3450m）のふたつ。河口湖口の9合目には山小屋ありませんでした。
It was tough, but at 04:20 I reached the summit (tenth station) with our friend K! We made it! 3776m! I didn't take any photos from the hotel to the summit, that shows how tired I was... C was climbing very quickly on his own (just like other foreigners!) but we found him at a hut. He had waited outside for too long and his body was totally cold. All huts were full of climbers who wanted to get warm, but the staff tried to get rid of us if we weren't drinking or eating their food, so C was ordering canned coffee and miso soup etc... I ordered green tea and it came in an old style plastic tea bottle, like the ones from before we had tea in cans.
At 04:40, it was getting noisy outside, so we decided to check it out. It was getting light. We didn't want to miss the sunrise, so we stood on the edge of the mountain, although it was super windy and cold. We waited for 35 minutes (we all felt it was longer than that!), tried to take good shots of the sunrise and worried about our camera batteries. And then, at 05:15,
we saw the sunrise! It was the first time for me to see the sun rise! Great!
The joy was short‐lived: C said he was freezing, so we went inside a hut again to get warm. Everyone was eating ramen, udon, butajiru and so on. They are all crappy instant food, but it looked quite nice on top of Mt Fuji. But I didn't feel like putting food in my stomach and anyway I couldn't be bothered to open my bag and wallet, so I didn't order anything.
Before the summit, I got two stamps from
Tomoe-kan (3400m) and
Goraiko-kan (3450m). There were no huts on the 9th Station of the Lake Kawaguchi route.
