torinoichi 2005
Yesterday, I realised that it was the day of the Tori (Rooster) in Chinese calendar, so I went to Ootori Shrine, where the torinoichi fair was held in Meguro, to return the old kumade (lucky charm) from last year. I went there quite early, so it wasn't packed and also there were lots of school kids, mothers, and young children. It was a nice atmosphere.

After I thanked the old kumade (lucky charm) and returned it to the shrine, I bought a very simple kumade from the shrine (usually they are very decorative). It was ¥1,000, the same price as last year. I completely forgot that we should buy a bigger size than the year before if we have reached our bussiness goal. I don't know if we did good business, but I should have bought a bigger one just to show off!

Hello J! Just had a look at your last years entry regarding this too.. this brings back nice memories. Has it really been one year already? Also, I didn't know that you are supposed to return the 'old' one. What do they do with all the returned kumade?

Hi Dirk, genki? One year has gone very quickly. But also it feels ages ago that I spent time with your family! They probably burn the old kumades at a shrine, just like they burn New Year decorations. I guess they just want us to buy a new one :-p
