dried udon noodles
東京で食べられる一番美味しい(そして安い)讃岐うどんはやっぱりカトキチの冷凍うどんなんだけど、友人からもらった三野製麺所の乾燥うどんもかなりウマイ。さすがうどんの香川県。茹で時間が25分という驚異の長さ。でも完全にヒカラビタ状態の手打ちうどんにはそれくらいしてやらないと歯が立たない。
I think the best Udon (wheat flour noodle) we can eat in Tokyo is Katokichi' frozen Udon from a supermarket. A few months ago, my friends brought us dried udon noodles by Mino noodles factory (in Japanese) from Kagawa prefecture. It seems like these hand kneaded noodles were dried out naturally and I've never seen these before. And the interesting thing was these noodles have to be cooked for 25 minutes!

25分茹でたうどんは見事にツヤツヤのシコシコ。海外でブチブチ切れるでんぷんの固まりの様なうどんを食べるはめになっている友人、それがうどんと思っている人にゼヒとも食べさせなくてはいけない一品。三野製麺所、海外発送だってしてくれるらしい。そしてKちゃん+Jちゃん、美味しいうどんをありがとう。

After 25 minutes cooking, the noodles became shiny and perfectly bouncy texture. I have to tell our friends living outside of Japan who have to eat gooey noodles, and people who believe these starchy strings are the real Udon noodles, these Sanuki Udon noodles are good! They can be mail ordered outside of Japan too (I guess you have to order in Japanese).
