This morning I woke up early, and I was so glad that the cold rain from last night stopped. I was squeezed into the train, and I headed to
bic camera (in Japanese) in Shibuya. Because today is the release of the
Nintendo DS lite (in Japanese) Crystal White! I arrived at bic camera around 7:45am, there were already about 100 people (including who stayed over night with sleeping bags) in the queue in front of me. I enjoyed reading a book and it was 10:48am when I finally got DS lite.
more:

Around 10:30 am, I got quite excited about my turn will be coming soon, and then somebody said hello to me. It was my cameraman friend who haven't seen for a while. He just came to bic camera for checking his equipment, and he had no idea what I was doing. I felt embarrassed about being in a queue (for three hours!), and I blushed myself a bit.
It seemed like bic camera had only about 180-200 DS lites today, and they don't know when the next stock will arrive. The other two colours; Ice Blue and Enamel Navy will be out on Saturday 11th of March. I guess more people queue on the weekend. BTW, I saw two customers won the 'free of charge campaign' in less than thirty minutes. They don't need to pay anything. The early bird catches the worm.
ジェッラシー! きれいですね! I will definately get one too and pass on my old DS to T maybe, or maybe her dad who is just trying out the brain training 'game'. Just not sure which colour to get. There is bound to be more colours to appear (apart from the navy blue and hte icy looking one). Which games are you playing then?
Hi dirk! I'm playing the brain training game :-)
My brain was 28 years old from the beginning. Not bad! I also bought Mariokart, but it's not fun to play on my own...
I thought about getting the navy one first, but now I'm happy with this, it is just like iPod. Don't you think Nintendo should make 'link (zelda) green' DS lite? I think it will look good!
Hi Jun, I've never really thought about getting games consoles, but I'm a fan of Toshio Iwai and noticed recently the amazing Electroplankton game he made for DS. I now really want to get one! Bea will love this game (and me too). Have you played it? I've actually also been dreaming of playing Katamari Damacy, so seems like I need to get a PS2 or PSP as well.
Mario Kart? I will send you my DS ID /gamertag and maybe I can race you sometime online?! A green Zelda DS sounds interesting, might well be in the works. You ought to have a look at Animal Crossing/Doubutso no mori too - you, T and I could swap wallpapers, furniture etc. :) Oh, and Elekro Plankton is fantastic!! Oh and maybe also consider the 'Mother' GBA games.
Hi Jamesu, yes, I have Electroplankton. It was a present from our friends. It is a great game and our friend's son, who is two years old, loved it! C has Katamari Damacy for PSP, and I like the simple idea and the funny visual, but the theme song drives me crazy. It stick in my mind for a few days!
Dirk, I need to practice more and more, before I race with you. I'm really bad at driving (in a real life too) and I even get car sick from playing a car game sometimes!! Doubutsu no mori is very popular here, but I haven't seen what it like. And 'Mother'? Maybe I should check both games.
Wow, you're lucky you got one! I also want to get one, especially since I've pretty much lost my old DS to my wife because of DOUBUTSU NO MORI...
Hi Jean, yesterday's battle in Shibuya seemed softer than Ikebukuro, Shinjuku and Akihabara. Maybe I was lucky! So it sounds like I really need to find out Doubutsu no mori, and I can meet your wife online!
But be carefuly, it seems like the game is dangerously addicting (as seen with my wife). Another reason we thought about getting another DS is because she wants me to play the game with her online. I mean, 2 months later and she still plays regularly, visiting people's vilages, etc. I have to admit that I don't really get what's so fun -- I spend my time playing stuff like MARIO KART DS, MARIO X LUIGI RPG 2, and METROID PRIME PINBALL! And of course, I can't wait for the new SUPER MARIO BROS. game to come out in May!
I see, it's sounds dangerous... :-)
At the moment I'm practicing a Mini Turbo for Mario Kart DS, but it is not easy for me... I guess I'm better with pinball or puzzle game like Tetris. But I still love Mario, all characters are so well designed!
Yeah, the I'm a huuuuuge Mario fan, and MARIO KART DS is a terrific game. Did you hear about the new TETRIS DS game that's coming out soon? It has multi-player modes, and a lot of themed games with various Nintendo characters, like Mario, Metroid, Zelda, etc.
Oh, by the way, me and Paul (Baron) have had these DS/PSP game orgies at the Cafe Pause here in Ikebukuro, and you should come next time we do one! It's fun to play multi-player MARIO KART DS when the person you're racing against is right next to you (more than just playing online).
Wow, TETRIS DS sounds great! That's something I really want to play!! I don't think I'm good enough to play Mario Kart with you yet (or forever), but I would deffinetly come over to Cafe Pause when TETRIS DS is released. I can't wait!!
