This is C's old sewing kit. It is probably the third time for me to see this, but I have a strong memory about it because of this sewing thread. The twenty-two different colours of thread are beautifully woven, and I can pick out a colour from one side. The threads are 48cm long, a very comfortable length for sewing. When I saw this for the first time, I was really amazed. I thought this was a very old product and didn't expect to see it in shops, but when I visited Germany about ten years ago, this was still available. I was happy to buy some for my mother and friends. It still looks amazing to me and it reminds me of Nike Air Woven.

In the beginning of this month, I ordered two Marimekko fabrics online, one of the fabric I ordered was out of stock, so I had been waiting for the shop to get it from Finland, and I finally received them! I didn't know that there will be the Marimekko store opening in Omotesando, in just a few days after I ordered them. I thought I could have bought the fabric without waiting, but it was also out of stock at the store anyway.

C went snowboarding in Nozawa Onsen (hot springs resort) in Nagano, and he brought sweet steamed buns called Onsen Manju from Masutaya shop. After he bought this box, he heard that the Onsen Manju from Fukiya shop (in Japanese) is very well-known, so he brought three more Onsen Manju (they have three different kinds of buns) from Fukiya. Nice job! The both of them were good but I prefer the one from Fukiya, it was not too sweet but strong flavour. There are more shops selling Onsen Manju (in Japanese) in the area. They look almost same, but I wish if I could try them all!

The F1 season started. For me, it means spring has come finally. I'm impressed if you can tell who is my favorite driver from looking at the cookies!

Recently C enjoys cooking for us every weekend. He learnt nice pasta dishes, and they are very tasty. I guess we don't eat my improvised pasta anymore! Yesterday C cooked for us as usual, but he also made handmade pasta from scratch. I'm so pleased!

This morning I woke up early, and I was so glad that the cold rain from last night stopped. I was squeezed into the train, and I headed to bic camera (in Japanese) in Shibuya. Because today is the release of the Nintendo DS lite (in Japanese) Crystal White! I arrived at bic camera around 7:45am, there were already about 100 people (including who stayed over night with sleeping bags) in the queue in front of me. I enjoyed reading a book and it was 10:48am when I finally got DS lite.

I think rhubarb is getting a little well known in Japan. I sometimes see it selling at an international supermarket. My first rhubarb experience was in London, I couldn't believe how sour it was. The other day I was shopping at Kaldi (in Japanese) and I found rhubarb compote made by Bonne Maman, unfortunately it was a little bit different from what I remembered (anyway it didn't go well with french toast). If fresh rhubarb is available from any local Japanese supermarket, I would like to make rhubarb crumble and eat it with custard.
