先週の金曜日、TRICOのmYwaY2階ギャラリーinformationで行われた友人達のイベントを見てきた。ヘクターという名前の自動絵描き装置。話は聞いていたけど、実際にヘクターがスプレー缶を使って壁に絵を描くのを見てビックリ。一筆一筆が丁寧で、空を切る滑らかな缶さばきは書道に近いものがあったりして(ちょっと大袈裟かな)。イベントの最後には相棒の似顔絵も描いてもらった。
Last Friday, we went to see our friends' exhibition at information gallery. I had heard about Hektor, a graffiti output device, but it was amazing to see how Hektor actually draws on the wall. He carefully drew each line, and I like that he made smooth paths in the air. At the end of the event, Hektor drew C's portrait.

福岡に行っていた友人がお土産をくれた。鈴懸(創業70余年の和菓子屋とは思えないモダンさ)のすず籠。鈴の形の最中にはツブ餡がぎっしり。ツブ餡派のワタシにはたまりません。にはオニギリなんか入れたりしようかな。ピクニックの季節もそろそろ。
Our friends went to Fukuoka and they bought us monaka: sweet red bean filling sandwiched between two thin crisp wafers. The traditional Japanese sweet shop Suzukake (in Japanese), which looks very modern although it is more than 70 years old, made this monaka into a cute bell shape. I probably use this bamboo box as a lunch box, Picnic season is just around the corner.

ピエール・エルメ青山でのマカロンフェスティバルが15日までだったと14日に思い出した。何がワクワクって、過去のコレクションで食べ損ねた(もしくはまた食べたい!と思った)マカロンが食べられるという事。店頭で24種類ものマカロンを前に思いっきり悩むのも、カラになった棚を見るのも悲しいので、散々吟味して8種類選び、電話で予約してから翌日に取りに行った。店頭のレジで「こちらでよろしいですか」と見せられた既に包装済みのワタシのマカロン、棚に並ぶマカロンよりもかなり地味な色目。選択ミスしたかもって気分になった。
On 14 Apr, I remembered that the macarons festival (in Japanese) at Pierre Hermé in Aoyama would finish on 15 Apr. I really wanted to go there because this was the chance to eat macarons from past collections. I thought it might be too hard to choose from 24 different macarons at the shop, so I carefully selected eight flavours at home and made a reservation. On the next day, when I saw our macarons already wrapped at the cashier, I realised that my choice was quite pale in colour compared to the other macarons on display. I felt like I made a mistake, but it was too late.

いつもはよつ葉バター(食塩不使用)を使っているのだけど、以前から気になっていたカルピスバター(食塩不使用)を購入してみた。カルピス味がほんのりするわけではなく「カルピスをつくる工程で牛乳から乳脂肪を分離するときにできる脂肪分(クリーム分)から生まれました」という高級バター。と言っても業務用を安く買ったので高級感はナシ。写真の奥に写ってる豆腐みたいなのは、昔ハビタで買ったバターケース。使いやすくて大好き。
We usually buy Yotsuba unsalted butter (in Japanese) but I finally had a chance to buy Calpis unsalted butter (in Japanese). You might know Calpis as Calpico, but this butter doesn't taste like that. This fine (and expensive) butter is made with the Calpis process of separating milk fat from milk. Apparently, many good French restaurants in Japan use this butter. The white box on the photo is a butter dish I bought from Habitat ages ago. It's very easy to use and I like it.

中目黒のcombineで花見をしながら飲もうと思ったら、まだ咲いてなかった。濃いピンクの桜は関山という品種で見頃はまだこれからとか。駆けつけ2杯目で友人が注文したテキーラを飲む。若い時にはベロベロに酔った時限定で流し込んでたテキーラ。しらふでストレートのテキーラを飲むのは初めてかもな、なんて思いながら飲んだけどコレが結構イケタ。まろやか具合がウォッカよりもいい感じ。
We went to 'combine', a nice cafe/bar in Nakameguro. We were expecting to drink with a view of cherry blossoms outside, but 'Prunus Lannesiana cv. Sekiyama', the deep pink coloured cherry trees in front of 'combine', were not in full bloom yet. I had tequila as my second drink because our friend bought a round. I used to drink tequila only when I got really drunk, so this was probably the first time to drink straight tequila when I was sober. And I like it a lot. It was much milder than vodka.

姉が岩手土産に盛岡冷麺をくれた。韓国冷麺そのまんま、という感じだけども、盛岡冷麺は蕎麦粉の代わりにでんぷんと小麦粉を使用。韓国の麺よりも白くてちょっと柔らかめ。でもシコシコ。初めて食べたけど、オイシカッター。特に麺の感じがスキ。これから夏が来るんだなって気分(先取りしすぎ)。ちなみに写真は半人前、なのでスープも麺も具の下に隠れちゃった。
My sister brought me 'Morioka Reimen' (Morioka cold noodles) from Iwate prefecture. This dish came originally from Pyongyang in North Korea, but the noodles are made of wheat flour and starch instead of buckwheat flour. So the noodle colour is white and they're a little bit softer than Korean noodles. I had Morioka Reimen for the first time and I really enjoyed it, especially the chewy texture. The Morioka reimen on my picture is only half the portion, so it's hard to see where the noodles and soup are...

エイプリルフールの土曜日、代々木公園で花見会。先週は寒い日や雨の日が続いたけど、土曜日は最高の花見日和になった。満開の桜、無風(今日なんて嵐みたいな風なのに)、晴天!超ごった返しの代々木公園だったけど、場所にも恵まれてイイお花見だった。
We had a 'hanami' cherry blossom viewing party in Yoyogi park on Saturday, April Fool's Day. It had been cold and rainy, but Saturday was a perfect day for a hanami party: sunny, no wind, and cherry blossoms in full bloom! A LOT of people came to see the cherry trees in the park, but we found a nice place and enjoyed the lovely day.
