いざ東京都旅券課について申請書を記入し、長蛇の列に並び、いよいよ本申請という所で係員に「国際結婚により配偶者の姓を使う（非ヘボン表記の）場合には、綴りの確認のため、配偶者のパスポート又は外国政府発行の婚姻証明書等が必要になります」と言われてガーンッ！そんなの聞いてないっ！非ヘボン式にするにはローマ字氏名表記申出書が必要という事はリサーチ済みだったけどーっ！でも「後日また改めて・・・」と言う係員に食い下がり、どうにか申請に漕ぎ着けた。懇願、泣き落とし、怒鳴り散らし、開き直り・・・どんな手を使ったかはご想像におまかせ。
At the office, I filled in the application form, being in a long queue, and finally it was my turn. But a female officer said to me that I needed to bring spouse's passport or the marriage certificate to show how to spell his surname (my ID shows his surname, but it is written in Japanese). Nobody told me earlier! The officer told me to come back again, but I didn't want to do this again. So I talked to the officer and I managed to apply for my passport in the end. I guess I learnt how deal with problems in these circumstances, because I lived in London for six years!
