アルヴァ・アールトがデザインしたフラワーベース。我が家のテイストには合わないと思って、ずーっと無視していたのに、ついに買ってしまった。去年はアールト・ベースが誕生して70年とかで、イッタラがイロイロな記念グッズを発売していた。そっちの方もチョロチョロと購入していたら、いつの間にかちょっとしたコレクションに。と言っても、どれもかなりプチサイズだけど。

I thought the Aalto vase, designed by Alvar Aalto, doesn't really suit our style, but recently I bought one for our flat. Last year iittala produced many new items inspired by his original ideas to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Alvar Aalto's vase. Bit by bit, I bought some of them and now I have a small Aalto collection!

イッタラが70周年企画で作ったアイテムの中からワタシが選んだのは、ポットガード、マグネット、そしてクッキーカッター。形が面白いから何を作ってもオッケー。でも、アールトが生きていたら何て言うか。ポットガードは箸置きにしようと思ってまとめ買い。で、クッキーカッターで作る物は買う前から決めていた。クッキーではなくコレ！だって、お箸の国の人だから！

I bought potguards, magnets and a cookie cutter. The original shape is very beautiful so anything would look good. But if Alvar Aalto saw these items, he might not be pleased... I bought lots of pot guards because I'm going to use them as chopsticks rests. And I had decided what to make with the cookie cutter before I bought it. Yesterday I made this!

i have a white one. got it as a housewarming present by my finnish colleagues, who said "all proper homes should have at least one aalto vase"! other than this basic size, i also like the rather flat small size ones that people use to keep flowers in water. you're such an ittala fan!

OK! Now we finally have proper home! Even though my vase is quite small :-) The flat one looks good too, we can put olives and sugar cubes etc. But isn't it to shallow to keep flowers? Yes, I'm an iittala fan, I have to visit Finland one day. I'm so jealous of you!

わ！結構タイムリーな話題ですね。今丁度バービカンでばんしげる監修（？）のエキシビションやってます。普段アートに関心のない（笑）私もさすがにこれは見に行ちゃった。クッキーカッターかわいい！そして、２色ご飯、なんて斬新なアイディア！思わず、わぉ！です。ノア用に買おうかな。。。。幼稚園の弁当にもピッタリ？だわ。

お！ホントにぴったりと合ってるね（笑）バービカンのサイトでどんなエキシビションなのかチェックしちゃった。アールトの事、そんなによく知らないんで、ワタシも行きたいな。トークもいっぱいあって、さすがロンドンのアートギャラリーって感じ。東京には無いよね（いや、あるのに行ってないだけかも）。是非、ノア君にそぼろご飯作ってあげてー！美味しそうに食べるんだろうな～。お弁当箱にストライプとかドット柄を2色使いで作るのも良さそうじゃない？
