As I don't go to Sangenjaya often, I was going to pop over to a nice bakery called 'Hamadaya', but I was so hungry and I changed my mind. I went to
Tokyo Gyozarou (in Japanese) and ordered Sui-gyoza (boiled dumplings) without garlic and Nira (Chinese chives), which was only ¥290, and Moyashi (bean sprout) at ¥180. So reasonable! I've heard that 'Tokyo Gyozarou' is much better than 'Harajuku Gyozarou' (it's a complete rip-off version, or maybe vice versa) but I couldn't tell a big difference. Although I believe home-made dumplings are always best, I wanted to try their grilled gyoza too. I bought some
frozen ones to take away and I was going to grill some for dinner, but suddenly a
dinner plan with friends came up. It was better than gyoza! When I was a student I had gyoza parties with friends a lot. I think those were some of the best gyoza!
