vacuuming
The rainy season will start soon in Tokyo, so I have to do KOROMOGAE 'a seasonal change of clothing' for our wardrobe. When the weather is sunny and dry, it's a chance to wash and air winter clothes and bedding. I feel like I go through and try to clear my wardrobe very often, but it's always overloaded. I finally decided to buy futon asshuku bukuro 'the vacuum storage bags' (in Japanese) even though I always thought this is a silly idea; fill a plastic bag with a duvet and suck the air inside a bag with a hoover to make a duvet loses its volume. But I realised my huge king size duvet needs to be vacuumed.

I remember it was about ten years ago, my mother was using this strange invention, but it didn't look good at all. It seemed lots of work getting the hoover nozzle out without letting air back in a plastic bag. But now, for some time past, it has improved lots. Sealing bag is easier with a new fastener, and there is a valve on a bag so that air never goes back. It was a little bit tough to put a duvet inside a bag, it's because my duvet is a king size, but this is the only important skill required to make a perfect square flat shape. The size of my hoover nozzle is much bigger than the valve but it wasn't a problem. My duvet was nicely vacuumed. Hopefully this doesn't break the stalks of the feathers, I'm going to try vacuum my down jacket and sweaters next.

BTW it seems like a small type of hoover doesn't work well, just in case.
