ここ数年、大晦日はどこにも出かけずに、近所に住む友人たちと家でノンビリと過ごす事が多い。で、日付が変わったら、ほろ酔いながらも近所のお寺へお参り。おそらく今年もそんな感じなのだけど、いつもとハッキリと違うのは、お寺で除夜の鐘を打たせてもらえるという事。どうしても打ってみたかったので、お寺で打鐘券というものを配布するという日の朝八時半に、張り切ってお寺へ出かけてきた。しかもその日は朝の二時過ぎまで飲んでいたのに、我ながらよくやったと思う。しかし、楽しみだな。あ、煩悩は取り払って臨まないとダメか。それではみなさま、よいお年を！

I have spent recent New Years Eves with my neighbourhood friends: first at home and then, after midnight, we've been making the first visit to the temple in our neighbourhood. I guess I will do the same tonight, but this time we can ring the big Joya no Kane bell at the temple! I heard that we could get tickets for ringing the bell on the 24th, so I went to the temple to get a ticket at 8:30 in the morning. I was drinking until 2:30 the previous day, so it was quite hard to get up, but I did OK. I will have to be free from desires to ring the bell, but I'm already quite excited! I hope you all have a very happy new year!

ほんまやねー。桜の下で一緒に飲めたら最高やねー。多分次回も春になると思う。私は夏に帰りたいねんけど（１０年近く夏に帰ってないし）でもギブリンには京都の夏はキツすぎるかもな～。日本の花火大会を経験させたいねんけど。盆踊りも良いし。あ、そうそう、土曜日にAng Leeの新しい映画Lust, Cautionを観に行ってんけど、良かったよー。久しぶりに良い映画を観たって感じ。本当にbrilliant. Highly recommended!
