ところが、オミヤゲの入った紙袋は無事に手元に戻ってきた。ワタシが京急線の品川駅を降りた後、紙袋は1時間15分もの長いひとり旅を続け、終点の印旛日本医大駅で親切な駅員さんに確保されたのだった。で、どこにある駅なんだろうと
地図で見たら、予想以上に遠かった。自分の足で取りに行くつもりだったのだけど、親切な駅員さんの指示通りにペリカン便に集荷依頼をして、約36時間後に届けてもらった。嗚呼、なんて便利な国なんだろう。
紙袋はちゃんと段ボール箱に入れられていて、送料は印旛日本医大までの片道運賃よりも安かった。
要冷蔵の洋生菓子も潰れてなかったから(常温保存だったけど)食べちゃった。
However, the shopping bag came back to us safely. After I left it in Keikyu Shinagawa station, it continued its journey for one hour and fifteen minutes, all the way to Imba Nihon Idai station, where a kind station assistant collected it. I wondered where the station was and checked the
map, it was further than expected! I was going to go there myself, but then I followed the station attendant's suggestion and asked a courier company to pick it up and deliver it to our home. Great Japanese service! When it arrived at our place,
the paper shopping bag was nicely packed in a cardboard box and the shipping cost was less than a one way train journey if I had picked it up myself. Among other things, there were some
fresh cakes in the bag, of course we ate them!
